Where We Work
BRAID Africa currently works in Grand Gedeh County in the southeast of Liberia– a West African country roughly the size of Tennessee. Grand Gedeh is the third largest county in Liberia. It has the largest war refugee population from Côte d’Ivoire across the border. Liberia and Côte d’Ivoire also share the same culture and religion.
Whom We serve
Since 2012, BRAID Africa has been helping refugees who have fled the Ivorian civil war. Some of the treated survivors have returned to Côte d’Ivoire, but the majority have elected to stay in Liberia, a country that is struggling to recover from its own 14 years of conflict. Our services now extend to include the Liberian villages which are hosting the Ivorian refugees.
