The first phase, started in 2012 focused on treatment of war-related injuries and as the treatment progressed the total number of cases decreased each year. From 2012 to 2017, we provided treatment for 561 refugee survivors.

Empowering
Six years after the war, our goal of restoring the survivors physical health was achieved and BRAID is now focusing on providing basic financial and business literacy program and seed funding for women led projects to help to further develop their skills and capabilities while working towards outcomes they can see. In addition, they earn a much-needed income, which allows them to be self-sufficient. Thus, not only reinforcing the value of their work but also as an incentive attribute toward recovery and rebuilding their lives and their community.
