Crops Irrigation

A SUSTAINABLE SYSTEM

BRAID Africa partners with other organizations to develop pertinent and sustainable enterprises in collaboration with our sponsored villages and cooperative communities in Liberia.

In March 2019, we successfully installed a crop irrigation system at the Janzon community cooperative, Grand Gedeh County. BRAID Africa implemented this project in partnership with the Frugal Innovation Hub at the University of Santa Clara (CA) Civil Engineering department, with the support of the Liberian Ministry of Agriculture. The irrigation system enables farmers to produce crops year-round. The first crop of okra was produced just forty-five days after planting.  The team also investigated means of transforming part of the reserves into safe drinking water.
